Apparently there is a survey they sent out for quickdraw I saw posted on another site. I looked through the survey, and there really isn't an opportunity to express your displeasure with quick draw via the survey. Imagine that.
Then I found this: http://lists.mo.gov/mailman/listinfo/quickdraw
Its an e-mail list for quickdraw. I have seen 2 e-mails via the list so far, one was positive about it, and one very nicely against it.
I thought some on here might enjoy seeing or using this email list.

huck,,,,,nice to know,,,but they won't listen,,,,bout the first time in my life I ever gave up on anything(but I have given up on the MDC leadership),,,,I have no respect for the leaders of the MDC anymore,,,,what was once great, is gone,,,,they will do it their way, not a care about us. When I hunt or fish anymore,,,,I'll just do it my way,,,

And without going on one of my legendary rants, I sure as hail hope the day doesn't come when they ask for my support for ANYTHING, because they won't get it.

I don't see it as a way to sway the mdc. I think there are people on there that think duck parks and reservations are good things, and they need to see the light.

I got the e-mail and summarily ignored it. Complete waste of time even trying to communicate with them. If you hate them, do not communcate with them, in any way, shape or form. Even your biatching will be used as, "See we got input..."
The ONLY way anything changes with this bloated, out-of-touch organization is when their precious 1/8 cent sales tax, revenue source, dries up. Once that initiative gets on a roll, I will be 100% on board. Until then, responding to them, in any way, is giving them just what they want.

You want to hear something pathetic (Coatney is going to love this), the dumb bastards in the Oklahoma Waterfowler Association thinks the Missouri model is the cat's ass and wants to mimic it. I spoke my peace at the one and only meeting I went to, walked out half way through, and got my $25 membership fee back. If Oklahoma goes that route, I'll be pissed.

Muggs, duck hunting can be ruined in any state in just a matter of one generation. It is sort of like how parents have ruined sports for kids. If they don't have a uniform and matching equipment and scheduled practices, organized games and over-zealous parents taking over, then it can't really be called _________ (fill in baseball, basketball, football, etc. here). Now kids don't play a pick-up game of anything because this crap they have now is all they know. Just the same, most duck hunters under the age of 30 or 35 don't know anyhting other than drawings, lines and green cards. They think that is real duck hunting. They think ducks naturally go to flooded refuges by the hundreds of thousands and await slaughter by people sitting in flooded corn, after drawing a pill (but not after 1:00 PM)...
Last week, I met a twenty-something young lady at a business deal. In a group of people it came up that she was engaged and her fiance was an outdoorsman of sorts. I asked what he hunts and she declared him a duck hunter. I asked how long he had been hunting and where he hunts. She stated that he was fairly new at it but got him a new truck with duck stickers on it and he only hunts the public draw places. I asked if he or any of his buds had a boat and ever hunted the lakes or rivers. She gasped and said there was no way they would do that. Apparently, it is too dangerous, too expensive and takes too much time...
I think the control freaks at MDC and those that aspire for that control in other states, figure that they can change the whole mindset of what duck hunting is, in one or two generations. The sad part is that it is working...

I got their email.........and then I got 4 responses from other people who replied to them. I now have people I don't know emailing me their response. MDC screwed up by giving out people's emails to other people

Most of those guys are Fuge guys-- nuff said
Considering that the new wave of creating Oklahoma waterfowl areas mind set is to find scrub land near a lake, river or navigation channel-- scrape out a bowl using the dirt to make the 'dike'-- plant some corn or let it go to cokcleburrs (ie moist soil mangagement)
then flood it
Its cheap-- emphasis on cheap easy to "manage" for ducks and people will crowd in to them because it is easy to access (morning draw coming to an area near you soon)
also makes it look like they give a damn about other things than quail and deer
Forget the natural flooded timber areas or places where you actually have to go find ducks-- hopefully all the yahoos will be heading to Billy Creek and places like that will draw all the windowlickers away from some places that I will never name on the internet
They did that to Overcup Bottoms and since they can not rely on the Verdigris to flood every year-- it is only a matter of time for them to pump and with the pumps will come a need to "manage" it even more-- the day they fix the road down to it so you can get up and down that hill in wet weather.... kiss it good bye
Maybe all those OWA types will go to Hackberry Flats and leave Eastern OK alone
ODWC getting its paws on a never ending revenue source.....? god help us

I got a few forwarded responses as well. The ones I received were all in favor of QD. At first I thought it was some cheap azz tactic they were using to try to sway opinions, you know, "See, you're fellow hunters all love it, you should too" . Now I think some dumb azz just didn't set up the mailbox properly. I don't think any responses were supposed to be forwarded at all, especially with the email addresses of those who responded. I wonder how many privacy policies they just violated. I bet a guy could cause them a bit of grief if his forwarded response resulted in harassing emails from other hunters.

I got one of those, but didn't notice that it was a forward. I just hit Reply, and said "You should send this to the MDC."
